About westfena

We are a family-owned and operated Licensed Breeding establishment and have been breeding Miniature Dachshunds and Labradors for nearly a decade.

Our passion for miniature dachshunds started when my husband purchased his first puppy over 20 years ago and fell in love with their loyal and friendly nature. Since then we have bred to produce our own lines and the majority of our girls are dogs which have been bred here by ourselves. This is the same for our Labradors and the majority of our girls were all bred here at Westfena.

We absolutely love what we do and seeing new owners meet their new family member for the first time fills us with happiness.

We take great care in our breeding process, which starts with carefully selecting our breeding pairs. We only breed dogs that meet our high standards for health, temperament, and conformation.

We have 2 of our own stud dogs here who are both health tested to the required breed standard and where outside stud dogs may be used again they are health tested to breed standards and carefully selected to compliment our girls. 

Once breeding has taken place we then have an exciting wait of approximately  63 days for our puppies to arrive!

We are licensed and inspected to the higher rated welfare standards with Fenland District Council. This means we have strict welfare standards to adhere to and plans in place for the socialisation and general day to day care of all our dogs and puppies. 

We take great pride in providing the best facilities to give our puppies the best possible start in life. We have a designated nursery area where all our puppies are born and raised, here they are monitored 24 hours a day along with mum ensuring they receive the best care possible. As our puppies grow they have spacious play areas which are designed to provide plenty of exercise and socialisation opportunities.
